DARIO POLI
Dario Poli, was born in Scotland from Scottish and Italian parentage. He was educated in Scotland and Leicester, including a stint in Florence studying art and the classical guitar. Together with his sister, the popular singing duo Delia and Dario performed in the finest venues in Europe, working with many of the great names in show business. Buddy Greco, Olivia Newton-John, Dave Allen, Bruce Forsyth, Tommy Copper, and Engelbert Humperdinck (in the studios) just to mention a few. Dario along with Roberto Danova, co-wrote the music to Nostradamus 1999 which was sold in 64 Countries and Dario wrote both the lyrics and music for his musical "Nostradamus." As a painter, Dario is a professional artist of the surrealist school his work being described by Paul Chave As a combination of Edvard Munch, Salvador Dali and William Blake and is known as a committed anti- war artist. He has written articles and short stories, has just completed a military book and is close to completing his first romantic novel. Dario has written the Libretto and co-written the Music and Lyrics for the powerful Musical drama "Lady X The Power of Destiny". The work, said to be based on the life of the late Diana Princess of Wales, has received favourable comments from prominent persons in the British media and is now capturing the attention of the media in several countries including Italy and Spain. His new song "Marbella, Marbella", was arranged and produced by the respected musician and arranger David Mairs. Sung by Alan de Ward and Samantha Mairs the song has begun to astonish the media in Spain and beyond
SAMANTHA MAIRS
On Completing her education Samantha emigrated, with her family, to the Costa Del Sol where she began her singing career in the family owned live music bar. She quickly displayed a talent for entertaining holiday maker's and residents alike. She sang and acted in numerous stage presentations and along with her father David, a professional musician, sang on BBC´s Songs Of Praise. Sam had her own late night radio show on Central FM and soon became one of the Costa Del Sol´s top entertainers. She returned to Motherwell in 2001 and after becoming established as a well known personality vocalist she returned to full time education at University doing a degree course in corporate communications and business study. Samantha is back singing and is now one of the top acts in Scotland.
Samantha says “ I was thrilled to be asked to record the song Marbella Marbella” and hopes there´ll be a recording contract at the and of this.
DAVID MAIRS
Born in Coatbridge, David Mairs played organ in his first band at the age of 15yrs he worked with many top bands in Scotland and performed with names such as The Searchers, The Easybeats, The Tremelos, Love Affair, Edison Lighthouse and many more. He emigrated to the Costa Del Sol in 1991 where he met and worked with singer song writer Mel Williams arranging the music for Mel´s stage productions “Professor Fossil” and “ Don Zabatel” Then came live TV performing the music for Maurice Bolland´s Breakfast show where he worked with Lonny Donegan, Mike McGere, Bonny Langford, Linda Nolan to name but a few. David´s talent, versatility and personality has made him one of the best known and respected musicians on the coast A testament to that is 11yrs as resident pianist/vocalist in the beautiful ”Restaurant Mijas Playa” where he met Dario Poli and together with Alan De Ward, arranged and produced, in his own music studio, the fabulous song “Marbella, Marbella”.
